So, what is SPROWTS ?

SPROWTS is a fully bespoke’’ Sales and Profitability Weekly Tracking System’’ already used by small and medium-sized enterprises in the U.K. Hospitality and Leisure industries.

SPROWTS has been around for a while and is expert in helping small and growing Hospitality businesses understand their various Profit Margins, and their costs, and how to be successful.

SPROWTS is the management tool you need when your Accountant can give you P&Ls but they are already out of date, or for when you just need a bit of fully backed up, expert advice.

SPROWTS does this by the Weekly Monitoring of all the Sales and Cost aspects that lead to making Operating Profit. It then reports back weekly on all key Profitability factors to the Business Owners and (optionally and selectively) to their Senior Team. SPROWTS generates weekly key performance indicators (KPIs) enabling the owner or operator (with some guidance from us) to have real-time business oversight.

Hence, SPROWTS allows smaller businesses to have the same controls readily available to those larger businesses who usually have in-house Head Office teams who produce their KPIs, and who help the business to understand what their operating performance is looking like against Hospitality Industry norms.

SPROWTS also looks at the medium-term and long-term Profitability and statistical results, highlighting patterns and trends.

Assuming I sign up … what happens next?

First, one of our Consultants will help you to ‘’benchmark’’ your business; i.e. to agree on what the Food Gross Profit Percentage (GP%) should be, what the Liquor GP% should be, and what the Wages bill should be. We can do this because of our experience working with the very wide range of businesses we serve.

Then, with you, we will set and agree targets for the business to achieve. If it is too difficult to go straight to the benchmarked performance, we recommend performance stages for you. This is particularly sensible if maybe the business has fallen badly behind in its Profitability, or it the costs have risen very sharply.

SPROWTS will definitely help you to achieve those targets we set, by measuring how you are doing, against those set targets, every single week. We will provide you with help on the technical stuff, some Coaching, and lots of encouragement – and you will have the figures, accurate and detailed, every single week.

Of course, SPROWTS is much more clever than just that, as it looks at the Short, Medium and Long Term averages, spotting trends, peaks and troughs, and it always prompts you on what you need to do next in terms of achieving your Profitability goals.
